Quantum Concept: Observation collapses potential

“We do not see things as they are, we see them as we are.” — Anaïs Nin

In quantum physics, matter behaves like waves of possibility — until someone looks.
Observation makes the invisible visible.

Quantum physics taught me everything I need to know about life, love and business.  Consider the example of the Double-Slit Experiment:

🔬 The Double-Slit Experiment (Thomas Young, 1801 — later expanded in quantum mechanics)

The double-slit experiment shows that particles behave like waves of pure possibility until they are observed.

How it works:
  1. Scientists shoot tiny particles (like electrons or photons) toward a screen with two slits.
  2. When no one is measuring which slit the particles go through, the particles behave like waves, passing through both slits simultaneously.
  3. This creates an interference pattern on the wall — proof that the particles existed in multiple states at once (a wave of possibilities).
  4. But the moment scientists place a detector at the slits to observe the particles…

    • The wave behavior collapses.
    • The particles act like solid objects, choosing one slit or the other.
    • The interference pattern disappears completely.

In plain language:

👉 The act of observing forces the particle to pick a single outcome.
👉 Before the measurement, it exists in many potential states at once.

The same is true in entrepreneurship.

What you choose to look at — with fear or with faith — becomes your lived data.

Stare at what’s missing, and you magnify absence.
Look for evidence of alignment, and you collapse abundance into form.

I used to refresh Shopify obsessively, searching for proof that things were working. But I was observing from fear, so everything felt scarce.

Then one day, I stopped watching the metrics and started watching my impact:
writing love-notes, imagining women opening their packages, feeling into connection.

The next morning, three sales came in from women who said:
“I've been wanting to order from you forever.  I finally pulled the trigger. I love your vibe, btw.”

That is the observer effect — your energy becomes the catalyst.

Before looking at analytics today, breathe.
Say: “I choose to observe with gratitude.”
Watch how the numbers feel different.
