Creative Space
"Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.” — Anne Lamott
Creativity needs space to breathe before it knows what it wants to become.
I used to think creative blocks meant I needed to push harder.
Open another doc.
Make another outline.
Find another reference.
Force the idea to arrive.
But most of the time, my creativity was not gone. It was crowded.
Crowded by urgency.
Crowded by comparison.
Crowded by the pressure to produce something meaningful on command.
Summer always reminds me that some things need air, warmth, and room.
A good idea rarely arrives when I am gripping it tightly. It usually comes when I give myself enough space to notice what is already forming beneath the surface.
For creators and founders, spaciousness is not laziness. It is part of the process.
Space lets the message soften.
Space lets the offer mature.
Space lets the nervous system catch up to the vision.
Space lets the next layer of truth speak clearly.
The work becomes stronger when I stop treating creativity like a machine and start treating it like a living relationship.
There are pieces I could not finish because I kept staring at them too closely. But when I let them sit for a while, the answer became obvious. A different chain. A softer finish. A gemstone that carried the feeling better. Space made the design clearer.

Step away for five minutes.
Take one slow breath and ask:
“What idea needs space before it can speak?”
